Thanks to the tremendous support of sponsors and guests, the 2019 Fall Breakfast held Sept. 26 raised nearly $120,000 and attracted 560 people, setting new records! Top sponsors Capitol Federal and JE Dunn Construction received special plaques.
The program began with a grand entrance by our “Champions” – students and staff members recognized for their outstanding achievements during the past year. Annual Cornerstone Awards went to Control Service Company and Nancy Knipfel, a retired assistant principal and former Education Foundation chair, for their ongoing commitment and support. Ellen Todd, current chair, spoke about the many ways the Education Foundation benefits our students, staff and schools. Supt. Dan Clemens, Ed.D., ended the program with his state of the district address.
Before breakfast was served, a Student Showcase featured several district programs, as well as projects funded by Education Foundation grants. They included makerspaces or hands-on, creative learning centers highlighted in the video on this page.
